In the summer of 2011 we learned of a young girl who had brain cancer and was given several months to live. I had been right in the middle of researching about childhood brain cancer and Cannabis. With the proper referrals and education her parents took a leap of faith and treated their daughter with Cannabis oil extract. They chose no other treatment option such as Chemo or radiation recommended by the University of Michigan, only Cannabis.

In 2012 on a beautiful spring day I received a call as I was driving to class, I was told our youngest cannabis patient just received reports from U of M Mott that her brain scan showed a considerable reduction in her cancer. They acknowledged they were not treating her at this point because she had never completed a single chemo recommended prescription.

The latest update as of January 2013 is over the summer her cancer formed to one single point whereas before it was like tiny stars all over. It was at this point in time she received her first radiation treatment. It is my understanding according to reliable information the University of Michigan Mott has recently told her they cannot find any more cancer and that she is currently in remission. She continues to use Cannabis oil extract to maintain her health as it’s my understanding it takes 5 years to be cancer free.

There are many cases such as this one around the world. The University of Michigan Mott Children’s Hospital knows this, the local newspaper reporters know this and last but not least the children and their families know it but many want privacy or just don’t understand enough to ask or tell.

That is why we are here, we must increase awareness to increase acceptance!
